Overview

MERC has 33 Chairperson positions to fill in Consumer Grievance Redressal Forums (CGRF) across Maharashtra. Each post corresponds to a specific location. The positions are open to retired senior judicial officers, retired civil servants, retired engineering principals or professors, and retired senior electrical engineers of the Government.

• Application Format: Personal profile or application form as per the prescribed format, with attested copies of certificates supporting qualification, experience, and age.

• Envelope Label: "Application for the post of Chairperson, CGRF."

• Multiple Locations: If applying for more than one location, submit a single application listing up to five preferred locations.

Eligibility

• Retired senior judicial officer
• Retired civil servant not below the rank of an Additional Collector or equivalent
• Retired Principal of a reputed engineering college
• Retired Professor of the Electrical Engineering Department of a reputed institute
• Retired senior electrical engineer of the Government
• Preferably fluent in the vernacular language of Maharashtra
• No separate age limit specified in the notification; however, the term is capped at 65 years.

Terms & Conditions

• Term of Office: 3 years, extendable for up to 2 additional years (maximum 5 years) subject to age limit of 65 years.
• Remuneration:
  • Rs. 50,000 per month for Kalyan‑1 Circle, Thane Urban Circle, Gigaplex Estate Private Limited, and Adani Electricity Mumbai Ltd.
  • Rs. 40,000 per month for all other locations.
  • Includes all allowances (sitting fees, honorarium, conveyance, telephone charges).
• Taxation: Statutory taxes deducted at source.
• Additional Charge: Chairperson holding an additional charge of Chairperson or Independent Member of another CGRF receives a 25 % additional remuneration.
